Christianity know Jesus as the Son of God and a fulfillment of the Jewish prophecy of the Messiah.
Ten Commandments - acted as a code of ethics to be followed by followers; it is incorporates into both Christianity and Judaism.
People to God
1. Do not worship any other gods, except for the true God.
2. Do not worship using idols or statues.
3. Do not misuse the name of God.
4. Keep the Sabbath sacred and holy.
People with People
5. Honor your mother and father.
6. Do not murder.
7. Do not commit adultery.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do not lie.
10. Do not covet others' belongings.
Love your enemies, pray for those who have done evil to you - this principle is very unique to Christianity as it advocates kindness to those who have done evil. It strengthened the ideas of kindness and forgiveness that reoccur frequently in Christian principles.
Love the lord with all your heart.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Love one another.
- in such a gruesome and violent time of Roman rule when persecution, execution, and torture were so common, Christianity's emphasis on love towards all, kindness and forgiveness was one of the main reasons it gained so much popularity
