Time Management Tips

With so much time spent at home these days, our time is structured differently. Our normal rhythm of physically going to/coming home from school and attending extra curricular activities has been disrupted. Now, more than ever, it's important to practice good time-management skills. Here's a great article on tips for improving time management.

Tips include:

-Set up a schedule

-Be flexible

-Don't procrastinate

-Eliminate distractions

-Study in a short burst

-Get a good night sleep

Effective Ways to Calm Down and De-Stress

The Mindful Minute-The Social Brain

Take 2 minutes to learn about the Social Brain and why some students struggle with Virtual Learning and Too Much Screen Time.
What is the Social Brain?

Remember to attend your teacher's office hours each week. Office hours are a great time to get questions answered, check in with your teacher, or further understand your assignments. Even if you only attend for a short time, it's a good way improve your grades. Make it a goal to attend an office hour at least two times per week.

Free Parent Classes

Here is a parent class offered through North County Lifeline for FREE Parent Education workshops offered in English and Spanish. The parenting classes are an 8 week course via virtual setting at this time. Parents that are interested need to call them directly for more specific information and the start dates for the new series. The representative informed me that the parent would need to participate since the beginning/first session as they cannot come in when the classes have already started. The next series is expected to start in January 2021. Please look at the flyers below.
