Belton ISD
Parents as Partners
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are looking forward to welcoming our students back for the 22-23 school year. Belton ISD values parents/guardians as partners in your children’s education. Early in 2022 we began working to expand parent partnerships in Belton ISD. You spoke and we listened. You want more access and resources to support your student(s) academically.
BISD is taking steps to ensure you have the tools you need to better partner on your child’s academic success this year.
ONLINE CURRICULUM RESOURCES
To better inform our parents, we are making the following updates to the BISD Teaching and Learning website:
Organized information so that it is easier for a parent to find.
Included information that show how and when the state the curriculum (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, or TEKS) is taught in each grade.
Provided information on how to access your child’s grades and the learning management systems.
When these updates are completed, BISD parents will be notified by their child’s campus.
ACCESS TO LIBRARY SELECTIONS
In addition, parents have a very important role in their child’s learning, especially reading. Knowing what your child is reading, and being able to either read with them, ask questions, or have discussions on their reading is important. With that in mind, we have made sure you can access materials that your child checks out in our libraries. You can find directions here on how.
COMMITTEE REVIEWS
Lastly, BISD is seeking parents who are willing to serve on committees and help us evaluate resources, including classroom curriculum resources and library book reconsiderations. If you are interested in serving in this role, please complete and submit this form.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your child, and we wish you a great 22-23 school year.
Sincerely,
Deanna Lovesmith, Ed.D.
Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning
