Dear Robert Hunter families,
Happy Halloween! We had a fantastic celebration at RH! The energy in the building on Friday was amazing! Thank you to all of the family members who came to watch the parade! It was wonderful seeing our whole community come together, and we were so happy to bring back this RH tradition! Also, thank you to the homeroom parents who organized fun parties that made the day even more special for RH students!
We hope you enjoy the rest of the Halloween weekend, making memories as a family!

Introducing Ms. Severino
We are so pleased to welcome Ms. Susan Severino as our new bilingual school counselor! Ms. Severino and Ms. Fontanez will be working together to deliver a comprehensive school counseling program at Robert Hunter. Both Ms. Severino and Ms. Fontanez will be teaching lessons, leading lunch groups, planning whole-school social-emotional learning activities, and providing support for students and families. For families looking to speak to a counselor in Spanish - please contact Ms. Severino at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please read Ms. Severino’s introduction below:
I am a recent graduate of Rutgers Graduate School of Education where I received my Master's of Education in school counseling. While studying full-time, I completed internships at multiple elementary schools where I conducted social emotional learning lessons as well as individual and group counseling. My approach to counseling students focuses on building upon their strengths and imparting empathy to affirm their experiences as well as collaborating with staff and families to ensure all-around support. I am honored that I have the opportunity to provide high-quality school counseling services to the Robert Hunter Elementary School community, with a focus on serving Spanish-speaking students and families
Keeping Toys at Home
We are noticing an increase of toys on the bus. We ask that all toys remain at home unless specifically asked to be brought in by a teacher. When items such as trading cards or stuffed animals are brought to school, they can get lost, damaged, or lead to conflict. If toys are brought in for a special day at the teacher’s request, they should remain in the children’s backpack on the bus. Please reinforce this with your children at home.
