Villa Education Update
August 2018
Term 3 a busy but friutful time
Being the Northern Summer Holidays our schools have enjoyed the benefit of several exchanges.
SOUTH AUCKLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL [SAMS] has hosted over the past weeks a group of 20+ South Korean students who live in Korea, Japan and The Philippines'. As usual the morning time has been devoted to 4 hrs. of focused ESOL learning so as to understand NZ culture, climate history, geography, music, food and the like. Afternoon time has been with the kiwi buddy integrated into the school timetable enjoying music, PE, sport, Community Learning, being the activity subjects within the curriculum.
MIDDLE SCHOOL WEST AUCKLAND [MSWA] has hosted a group of Japanese students in a fully immersed integrated with kiwi buddy mode. The meant being part of the kiwi class all the time, morning and afternoon.
MT HOBSON MIDDLE SCHOOL [MHMS] has also hosted 8 individual students from China, Japan and Vietnam. These students merged into the yr 7, 8, 9 and 10 classes again in a fully immersed integrated mode.
We have loved hosting and providing an experience of education the "Kiwi-Villa way" and talking with each student they also have loved the encounter. !
