~Andrew Jackson~
HERO OR ZERO
Is Andrew Jackson a hero or a zero?
In my opinion Andrew Jackson is a hero because he "killed" the national bank. He also removed the tariff of abomination
Tariff of Abomination
The tariff was suppose to protect northern and western agricultural products from competition with imported goods. The tax on imported goods would raise the cost of living in the South and would hurt the money they made of New England's imported goods
Killing the National Bank
He is a hero because he "killed" thew National bank. "Jackson removed all federal funds from the Second Bank of the U.S., redistributing them to various state banks, which were popularly known as "pet banks." In addition, he announced that deposits to the bank would not be accepted after October 1. Finally, Jackson had succeeded in destroying the bank; its charter officially expired in 1836."
The War of 1812
"War Hero. In the War of 1812 Jackson defeated the Creek warriors, tacit allies of the British, at Horseshoe Bend, Ala. after a requiring campaign (social one) and won the rank of major general in the U.S. army. He was given command of an expedition to defend New Orleans against the British."

How did Jackson "kill" the National Bank?
He killed the national bank by vetoing the contract. Andrew Jackson vetoed a bill that would renew the second National Bank and Jackson did not want to do that because he saw the bank as Unconstitutional.
