Dublin Jerome High School

Jan. 17, 2020

Good Afternoon!

It has been a good week here at Jerome. Students and staff have settled into the 3rd quarter and are hard at work. Dublin Jerome is a special place and we are all fortunate to have the chance to learn together each day.

We continue to work hard to improve and discover ways to help ALL students be successful. We are appreciative of your support to work with your children each day.

Have a wonderful long weekend!

Door Dash, Uber Eats, Postmates, etc.

There has been an uptick of food deliveries to Dublin Jerome from the variety of delivery services over the past month and a half. While convenient and awesome (especially when you are craving taht Popeye's Chicken sandwich), we are asking that students and families avoid using these services during school hours. We are trying to limit unnecessary disruptions and situations that detract from school-specific needs.

We appreciate your help in helping keep our school safe and running efficiently.

Social Emotional Learning

During our Dec. 20 PD Day the Dublin Jerome Staff spent time reviewing and analyzing building data from the SEL Survey given this fall (will be given again in the spring). This feedback allows us to identify areas that we can better support all students.

We have collaboratively identified the theme of Self-Management with a focus on "regulating emotions and behaviors by using thinking strategies that are consistent with brain development". Throughout the 2nd semester, students will be exposed to discussions and strategies and in their classrooms that will help them deal with situations in a healthy manner.

We hope by being intentional with this work we will be able to provide students with tools that help them develop healthy behaviors when faced with worry or anxiety.

Dublin City Schools Parent University

In a large and dynamic school district such as Dublin City Schools, it can be difficult for parents to learn about all of the different academic and extracurricular opportunities available for their students. The goal of establishing a Dublin City Schools Parent University is to provide a vehicle that increases awareness regarding all of the programs the District has to offer, as well as some of the challenges and opportunities facing public education.
