"Pie in the Face" Monday!
Classes will be coming outside between 3pm - 3:10pm and taking a seat on the hill, facing the school.
While the students are coming out, we'll have a few songs we can dance to (YMCA, etc.). Then at 3:10pm we'll do a count down and then the official "throws". Parents - if you'd like to come on to the yard to join in the fun, you are welcome on this day!
Looking forward to a fun way to end our day on Monday :)

Monday, June 6th – Thursday, June 9th: Grade 3 and 6 formal EQAO assessment
I'm sorry for any confusion this might cause!!!

From the KPR Board Office....
Hello KPR families,
It has been a difficult week on many fronts - we are confronted once again by both local and international tragedies that affect our mental and physical resiliency. KPR’s Mental Health and Wellness team has compiled strategies for supporting children and teens that can be used by families. Close to home, our thoughts continue to be with all those impacted by last weekend’s severe storm, who may have experienced injury, loss, damage to property, and/or continue to be without power. Despite these challenging times, I feel grounded and uplifted by the daily positive and inspirational actions of students and staff in our schools and communities. I am grateful for our KPR community.
Looking ahead to next week, National AccessAbility Week (May 29 to June 4), celebrates the valuable and meaningful contributions of all persons with diverse abilities! I urge everyone to continue to reflect on how we can create a more inclusive society by recognizing and removing barriers to accessibility in our classrooms, schools and communities.
This week, I would like to highlight a wonderful Student Success Teacher, Advisor to Student Council, and now Acting Vice-Principal at Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School - Marsha Hanak. Marsha is always on the lookout for new and exciting ways to support student success and wellbeing. Learn more about her creative and solution-oriented approach and natural ability to form meaningful connections with students, staff and families in this week’s #WeAreKPR story.
I hope everyone is able to enjoy a restful weekend.
Sincerely,
Rita Russo
Director of Education
KPR NEWS
Secondary School Report Cards
Due to the significant impact of this weekend’s storm and its effects on our schools and communities, some schools have not been able to complete secondary mid-term report cards by today as originally planned. Report cards will now be issued on Tuesday, May 31st.
KPR Skilled Trades Virtual Event
Over the coming weeks, students and families are invited to explore the skilled trades through a virtual portal. The Skilled Trades Virtual Event website showcases careers in apprenticeship and the skilled trades, with stories featuring Indigenous community members and females in the trades. The online platform also includes career planning guides, virtual field trips, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) and Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) videos, and a Scavenger Hunt with prizes!
Secondary School Food Services Survey
KPR has created a food services survey for secondary school families. Through this survey, we would like to find out families’ opinions about food service options for lunch breaks and snacks at high schools, with a particular focus on cafeteria service. Other food service options currently include vending machines, food carts and pre-order lunch programs.
Please complete the survey by June 3, 2022.
