STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Students of the Week
STUDENT: Alicia Edmonson
NOMINATED BY: Mrs. Olenik & Mr. Maturi
Alicia found a pair of sneakers in a bathroom stall and let us know. Together, we returned the shoes to a senior VP and the shoes were then returned to their rightful owner.
STUDENT: Skylar Weinstein
NOMINTED BY: Ms. Florido
Skylar exemplified kindness by helping a student in her class practice her presentation so that the student could get a better grade. The student that she helped has been going through a rough time since the beginning of the year. I truly appreciate her kindness to other students.
Electrical Technology
As the level of automation evolves in Electrical Technology, students are learning how to incorporate the coil and contact circuit of the electromagnetic relay to control DC motors from low voltage levels applied to the relay switching circuit. The circuits are DC powered with independent power supplies in the control circuit and the geared power circuit. Students learn the small systems using ten (10) to twelve (12) STEM standards with performance rubrics measured in common assessment.
Education and Training Students engage in reading and writing activities with the preschool children

Renaissance Model Building in World Cultures
Students in Mr. Walter’s & Mrs. O’Hara’s World Cultures class had a contest where they researched and reconstructed models of famous objects from the Renaissance and Scientific Revolution. Students selected topics such as Galileo’s telescope, Leonardo Da Vinci’s Workshop, and Christopher Columbus’s ships. The secret judge, Ms. Calhoun, picked our ultimate winner, the recreated Globe theater created by 9th graders Courtney F., Amaya P., Isabella P., and Maiya W.

WEEKLY GAME/SCORE REPORT
Cross Country
This past weekend senior Olivia Shafer competed at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park. It was a performance for the ages topping off a season to remember. Olivia finished the very difficult course with a time 18:48. To put that into perspective the school record before Olivia broke it was 19:41, ran by her sister Abigail. Olivia finished in 6th place running a top 20 time in South Jersey history.
The accolades for Olivia's successful season have piled up already. She was named the South Jersey Runner of the year, The CAL athlete of the year for all fall sports, and will also be named press of AC runner of the year and 1st team all state.
