Academic Opportunities in Primary Years, Middle Years & IB Diploma Program Announced
International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years & IB Diploma Programs
Applications for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years and IB Diploma programs for the 2020-21 school year are available, and will be received through January 31 at 5:00 p.m.
The IB Middle Years and IB Diploma programs, which are regarded as the most comprehensive college preparatory programs in the world, are taught at Williams Middle School for grades 7-8 and Wilson High School for grades 9-12.
Florence 1 students who are not enrolled at Wilson or Williams, can transfer schools in order to participate in the IB Middle Years or IB Diploma programs. Florence 1 provides transportation to Wilson High School and Williams Middle School for these students.
The IB Informational Meeting for all current and interested parents will take place on February 25th at Wilson High School at 6:00 p.m.
There will also be a parent night for newly accepted MYP students held at the beginning of April at a specific date and time to be announced later.

The Primary Years Program - North Vista Elementary
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) at North Vista for children aged 4 - 12 nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.
Through its inquiry-led, framework, the PYP challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts.
There will be a PYP Informational Meeting at North Vista Elementary School on Thursday, February 6 at 5:30 p.m. at North Vista Elementary. All interested parents are encouraged to attend.

Tour, Lunch & Learn: A Gift for Teachers & Student Reps
This week the first group of teachers traveled to Columbia to have lunch with Senator Leatherman and to tour the capitol building. The second group will visit in February.
