Welcome Back to School!
We hope this message finds our entire school community safe and doing well, all things considered. We are so excited to start the school year and see our students in class on Monday morning at 8:30! In preparation for Monday, our first day of school, double check that your student's device is charged up, the headsets/earbuds and microphones are working, and that they can access the Seesaw app through Clever. Have a wonderful weekend!
Back to School Drive-Thru Meet & Greet 9/17 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
We rescheduled our Back To School Drive-Thru Meet & Greet for next Thursday, 9/17, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Please join us to meet your teacher and other support staff (in person, yet socially distanced) and pick up your back to school student success kit!
In order to reduce congestion in the parking lot, we are asking families to arrive during the window of time provided by last name:
- A-M please arrive between 5:00-6:00 p.m.
- N-Z please arrive between 6:00-7:00 p.m.
If possible, please write down each child's name, grade, and teacher and make it visible outside of your vehicle so staff can identify students easier and distribute supplies.
For the health and safety of our entire school community we ask that all guests abide by the following guidance:
- Please remain in your vehicle at all times unless you are retrieving your back to school kit.
- We plan to set up stations where you can safely exit the vehicle, and items can be retrieved with safe distancing.
- All guests are required to wear face coverings or face shields.
- Guests are required to stay home if they have COVID-19 symptoms and/or if
they are at risk for severe illness (over age 65 or have underlying medical conditions).
- Please practice good hand hygiene and use hand sanitizer (60-95% alcohol content) before and after the event.
- Please cover coughs/sneezes with elbow or tissue.

If you have children in grades 3-5 and K-2, please come via SW Blanton St and meet the upper grade teachers first and then come to the front lot to meet the lower grade teachers.

A Message From Your PTO
The PTO board would like to welcome you back to the 2020-2021 school year. We know this year will look a lot different than the past years. But we are hoping to be able to still fundraise and plan school wide activities to bring the school together. You might be thinking what is the PTO even going to be spending money on this year? Here is the answer: we are going to be helping teachers with extra expenses, and we will be helping to finance extra activities throughout the year to help keep the kids connected and feel more like a community. We are distance learning but would like to help keep us all feeling connected.
We are excited to start the year off with a fun yard sign (see photo above)! Help us show our support for each other and help our PTO kick off their fundraising efforts this year! Signs will be 24 x 12 and will come with a stand! Don’t have a yard? It’s ok! You can stick it in a window or on a balcony! Orders can be placed directly on our Kinnaman Gear website at https://www.companycasuals.com/Kinnaman/start.jsp for $10 each. You can pick them up at the school on Tuesday September 29th from 11am-12pm or 5:30-7pm in the North parking lot.
On our Kinnaman Gear website you can also order Kinnaman apparel such as shirts, hoodies, water bottles and masks, until October 2nd. Then our first batch will go to print. You can have it directly sent to your home or you can pick it up on Tuesday October 20th in the North parking lot from 11am-12pm or 5:30-7pm.
Year round opportunities to support the school are Amazon Smile and Box Tops. If you or a family member shops on Amazon, make sure to let them know to order through Amazon Smile and have Kinnaman PTO as their nonprofit that they wish to support. Amazon will take 0.5% of what is spent and give it back to the school. If you purchase items with Box Tops on them you now have you download the BOX TOPS for Education app. You can scan your receipt. Every little bit helps a bunch!
Thank you for helping to support Kinnaman’s staff and students.
