This Friday, Sept 3 is our first "Focus Friday". Faculty and staff will be on campus but students will stay home on this day. Your student will bring home a couple of assignments on Thursday for completion on Friday. They will need to bring the completed work to school the following week to verify "attendance" (participation) for the Focus Friday.

Contact your student's teacher for more information.

Children with Special Needs At Carpool

Please be mindful that a few of our parents are dropping off and picking up students with special needs. They will be permitted to pull over to the side of Lane 1 during carpool to drop off or pick up their student. You should see a special placard in the window of these vehicles.

A Message from PHES' School Nurse, Mrs. Staci. 🩺

PHES students will be running the Pacer Test in PE the week of August 30th. If your student has an inhaler, PLEASE SEND IT WITH THEM. I added the all caps because too often I see so many kiddos that run it and come to me panting, tight, wheezing and need their inhaler that undoubtedly is at home. Thanks so much!!

Counselor Corner

We are so excited to be teaching Social Skills to your students! Here is what each grade is learning about this week:

Kindergarten: Introduction to Social Skills

1st Grade: The Hand-Brain Model

2nd Grade: The Hand-Brain Model

3rd Grade: The Hand-Brain Model

4th Grade: The Hand-Brain Model

5th Grade: The Hand-Brain Model

The Hand-Brain Model is something that helps kids understand how our brains work when we are stressed versus how our brains work when we are calm. Feel free to ask your student about what they learned!

Don't forget to take a look at our counseling website. There are lots of great resources for you and your students! Check out our PHES counseling website!
