Team A: Period 2
Team B: Period 1
Team C: Period 3
Team G: Period 3
Students will need their Chromebooks. Look for the information coming home with your child and take this opportunity to discuss course options. We will also be linking forms and information to the Counselors Website by Monday, February 5th.
Parent Meetings:
The school counselors will be having informational meetings for both 7th and 8th graders for the 18/19 school year on February 13th in the school cafeteria. They are scheduled as follows:
5:00 - 5:45 PM Last names beginning A-M
6:00 - 6:45 Pm Last names beginning N-Z
For those parents and students who feel they have an understanding of how to register for classes, please feel free to do so without attending the meeting. As always, there are some changes, but those are mostly related to a few courses. For detailed information on course offerings and descriptions, please visit our website by clicking JH COURSE REGISTRATION. There are tutorials and printed instructions on registering, as well as powerpoints about junior high with many details, forms, etc. These resources should answer most questions. However, if you still have questions after accessing and viewing the information provided, please feel free to attend one of the meetings on the Feb. 13th. The registration window for selecting 7th and 8th grade classes is February 8-18.
For current 8th graders entering 9th (2018/2019):
On January 30th, we presented information to all of our 8th grade students about scheduling their classes for the 2018-2019 school year. Students will need to have their schedule requests entered into Infinite Campus by February 9th at midnight. Resources are available for students on our website at https://www.pickerington.k12.oh.us/pickerington-central-high/courses-and-class-registration/ . It is important that students look up class descriptions and prerequisites in our interactive course guide at bit.do/courseguide.
Two high school counselors will be available at Ridgeview next week on Thursday and Friday, February 8th & 9th, during all lunch periods for students to ask questions and to get help scheduling their classes.

High Schools offering new "Global Studies" Program to incoming Freshmen
The Global Scholars Diploma Program is a three-year program that provides hands-on experiences, simulations, and practical examples, and strategies for global studies and cultural competence. The first year of the program will begin this fall and is primarily geared toward incoming freshmen (this year’s eighth graders).
Interested students or their parents are encouraged to discuss the new program with their school counselors before or during registration. For more information, visit the CCWA website or email Dr. Marie Hurt at marie_hurt@plsd.us. Additional details can be found in the high school Program of Studies under “Global Scholars Program.”
Help Wanted
The RJH PTO will be opening our school store for the PYAA Basketball games and we need lots of help to cover each Saturday. We did this for the first time last year and it went over really well with those attending the games. We hope we can fill all of the Saturdays this season as well. If you have a student who needs volunteer hours, we will sign off on those hours for them when they volunteer. Please keep in mind though, we require a parent or adult to be with the student throughout the entire shift.
You can sign up for one or more shifts on the Sign Up Genius, thanks!
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Tammy Powers at tpowers1608@gmail.com, or 614-397-2402. Thank you for your support of the RJH-PTO.
SPRING SPORTS MEETING
Any student interested in playing a spring sport should attend a mandatory pre-season athletic meeting on Monday, February 12th at 6:00pm in the gym at Ridgeview Junior High. The meeting will cover OHSAA and PLSD eligibility rules and regulations.
