Participate in March Madness Book Voting
Your students can participate in a world-wide March Book Madness that has brackets and the voting platform ready to go! Everything you need is on this page; there are brackets for picture books, middle grades, and YA. Some teachers and librarians choose different books and make their own brackets, but this is an easy way to participate and get started. The first round of voting begins tomorrow, and students do not need to have read every book.

Free Opera Field Trip on April 23 to Newfields (Indianapolis Art Museum)
Indianapolis Opera will present Brundibar & Vedem in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of Holocaust Remembrance Day in April 2020. The Indianapolis Children's Choir will perform alongside resident artists. Brundibar was written in Prague around the beginning of World War II, and was taken to the Terezin/Theresienstadt, a propaganda concentration camp designed to show visiting dignitaries how "wonderfully" the Nazis were treating the Jewish population. It was performed 55 times by children in the camp during the war.
They are offering a free field trip for students in grades 5 - 8. There is still space available for both performances (10 am or noon, approximately 45 minutes long), and supplementary curriculum materials are available. No tickets are necessary, but reservations are required
