Growth Mindset/Leadership
Our class has been busy learning about how to be a positive leader inside and outside school the past couple of weeks. We have discussed living with a growth mindset, or with the belief that if we work hard we can improve and become the best version of ourselves. Also, we have spent much time throwing away ugly words from our conversations, such as the words “can’t”, “won’t”, or “I give up” and have replaced these negative words with more uplifting words. We have studied optimism, or the idea that when you do something new you can think "I can try" and give it your best shot because that's how we grow. We discussed and imagined what optimism looks like at school and in the world around us.
We also learned about Habit 1 of the 7 Habits of Happy Kids, Be Proactive. Ask your child how he or she is practicing a growth mindset and the first habit of being proactive at home! :)
