This will be our only newsletter for the month of December. I want to thank all of our students, staff, parents, and community for a wonderful fall semester. It’s hard to believe that 2017 is coming to an end. This time of the year can be challenging for some of our families. I often wonder if our newsletter reaches all of our families that are in need. If you know of someone in our school community in need this time of the year, please let them know about our services.
On Wednesday, December 20, 2017 BMS will host a Career Information Fair. The format will be like last year. All volunteers will have a table in the gym where they can set up information about their occupation. All three grade levels will rotate through at different times. We had a lot of fun last year and we are hoping to build off of that success! If you choose to volunteer you will be needed from 8:35 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. If you are interested in volunteering and receiving more information please complete the form below. We will only be able to have this event if we have enough volunteers. Use this link to sign up: https://goo.gl/forms/pjT1UR4W1GhHbiTi2.
Thank you to all who responded this week, We only need ten more volunteers!

Counseling Corner
Naviance is a comprehensive college and career readiness program that aligns student strengths and interests to postsecondary goals, improving student outcomes and connecting learning to life. The Counseling Department will be completing Naviance lessons with all students over the next few weeks in their Social Studies classes. Additional lessons will also be taking place during Warrior Wednesday lessons throughout the year. Feel free to ask your student about this program and the college and career readiness activities they are completing in their Naviance account.
SSL reminder: 8th grade students who have community activities that are with Non-Profit Organizations should come to the Counseling Center for pre-approval of the activity. Additionally, after a student has completed a pre-approved activity, they should complete the questions on the back of the yellow SSL card and return it to the Counseling Center as soon as possible.
