2019 Teacher Institutes: Improving Instruction through Assessment
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will host Teacher Institutes this summer for mathematics, reading/language arts, science, and social studies. Highly qualified Texas educators are encouraged to apply to participate. Participants will gain a strong understanding of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) program and how it aligns with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Week 2 for mathematics and science is scheduled for July 15-19, 2019. This institute will include training and activities related to item development and data analysis.
Participants in the 2019 Teacher Institutes will be selected as applications are received and until all available slots are filled. The earlier an application is received, the greater the opportunity for participation, and only applications submitted by May 31 will be considered for the 2019 institutes. Individuals who are selected to attend one of the institutes will receive an email invitation by June 15, 2019.
Use the link below to complete an application to participate in the Teacher Institutes.
