Spring 2015 Library Liaison Updates

A note from Heidi Steiner Burkhardt

Welcome Back!

Greetings from my new temporary corner in the Archives! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break and all is going well getting back in the swing. This newsletter is a reminder that I am here to support your teaching and research needs, as well as illustrate all we have to offer at the Library. Enjoy the winter sunshine!

Library Instruction Requests

As you think about preparing your students for research papers and projects, I am available for library instruction sessions on how to develop a research strategy and use the library’s resources effectively. Please fill out our Library Instruction Request form or email me to book a date and discuss venue options. Note requests require at least two weeks notice to facilitate scheduling and allow for customization that optimizes student learning.

Course Guides Support Student Research

Course guides can supplement or serve in lieu of an in-person session and I love making them! These guides call out library and web resources for specific courses to help support your students work (some examples: EC106 and NR104). Statistics show students regularly refer back to these while doing their research. Please shoot me a note if you would like one for your course and be sure to take a look at all of our Research Guide offerings.

Purchases for the Collection

We are always taking requests for additions to the collection. Please contact me if there are any items you would like purchased and keep an eye out for Choice cards arriving at your department.
