Athens is a better place to live than Sparta
Athens is a great place to live because Athenians value education, equality, and trading. Unlike Spartans who just teach their children how to battle, Athenians teach their children how to read, write, do mathematics, and play instruments. Athenians also believe in equality, and they give every free male citizen a vote in government, making many more voices heard than in Sparta. Trade is also valued in Athens. This is important because Athens has a surplus of many goods and materials and trades them for other goods that they don’t have a lot of. This makes it so that Athens has a good amount of all the goods that they need or want. In Sparta, people aren’t able to get all the goods and materials that they need because they don’t trade. These are all the reasons that I think Athens is a better place to live than Sparta.
An agora is a marketplace. For Athenians it was also the center of trade and a meeting place.
Schools in Athens only had boys. There was one teacher for each subject per school.
Athenian temples were used to worship Athena and other gods and goddesses. Both men and women could be priests and priestesses.
