Safety and Security
We have been/will be practicing our responses to the following safety situations:
- Evacuation (Fire Drill)
- Hall Check (all adults have proper/visible ID)
- Drop, Cover, Hold
- Lock Down
In the next week or so, have a conversation with your student about these drills. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My direct line is 208-854-6064. You can also send an email to gale.zickefoose@boiseschools.org
Raptor
Raptor is our ID badge program. The first time that you come to the school to visit/volunteer you will need your Driver's License or State Issued ID. Present your ID at the front desk and Mrs. Foss will walk you through the next steps. It's an easy process. Thank you for understanding that the system is in place for the safety and security of everyone that is on our campus.
Weather/Communication
Please sign up to receive text messages from the Boise School District. Click on this link and then follow the steps: Emergencies Text Messaging.
Parking and Crosswalks
Please use the crosswalks on campus. One crosswalk is in the main parking lot and the other is at Sloan and Robson. The crosswalks are placed in areas that drivers can see and expect to see walkers use. Students are expected to use crosswalks when adults are not present. When adults are present (Parent with Child) I still encourage the use of the crosswalk. Please do not wait by a vehicle and call to a child to cross the parking lot or one of the streets adjoining the school at a place other than a crosswalk. I appreciate your help in modeling safe habits!
FERPA
The annual FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) statement is included in this newsletter in another location.
