Recent Updates:
Title I Parent/Guardian International Night-We need your help!!
Our annual Title I International Parent/Guardian Night will take place on October 26th from 5-7. To make this event successful, we need parents in our community to sign up to represent their country or nationality. Below are examples of how you can represent your country or nationality.
- Host a country table - usually includes a trifold with photos and information about the country, some traditional items like fabric, housewares, etc.
- Participate in the "Buffet of Nations" by preparing a traditional dish to share.
- Participate in the "Fashion of Nations" show by parading down a catwalk wearing traditional clothes. Both parents and kids can be the models.
- Participate in the "Culture of Nations" show by sharing a traditional song, dance, instrument, or talent.
- Provide an activity or demonstration (henna, calligraphy, art, or game).
- Share a slide of your country and family to be displayed in the PowerPoint presentation playing in the background.
- Sign up HERE to represent your country or nationality at International Night..
Panorama Survey
- We need your feedback as our biannual Panorama Survey is underway now! We are asking each family, student, and staff member to complete the survey. The links to the surveys are posted on our website. Parents can also expect to receive information from their child’s school in the following days. Your students will likely hear about it in class, but as always, we remind parents you do have the option to notify your child’s school if you do not want your child to participate. In response to North Carolina’s Parent’s Bill of Rights legislation, this year’s survey is shorter and does not ask questions that deal with personal student emotion.
- Parent, student, and staff participation in this survey is helpful as it is the best way to help the district make decisions using your input and feedback as the guide.
NC Check In's #1
- NC Check In's will begin on October 24th.
- It is important that students arrive on time and prepared. Students will need to turn off all personal electronic devices including phones and digital watches. If a device interrupts the testing environment students may have to retake the test.
How to Check Your Students Grades
- Progress reports were sent home on Wednesday, September 27th.
- We have just completed the eighth week in the first quarter. With a few days left it is vital you know where your student stands academically.
- If you have any questions about setting up your PowerSchool Parent Portal to check grades daily please call the school and ask to speak to Ms. Sharp, our data manager.
- Parents/Guardians-your students can also show you their grades. All our students have been taught how to check their grades using their computer, so ask them to show you their grades every week.
Information Items:
