Perry the Platypus
A famous Platypus from Disney's Phineas and ferb. His living conditions are not really suitable for a Platypus but it's an interesting choice for a pet.
Swimming
A Platypus swimming. He uses his front legs to swim and his back legs and tail are used for steering. A Platypus is a very slow swimmer.
Baby Platypuses
They are suckled for three to four months. Their mother starts weening them from five weeks old. They are born with teeth which they lose at an very early age.
Housing
They spend 50 % of their time in the water. Platypuses live in a burrow whenever they're not in the water. The burrow is 5 to 10 metres long and the entrance is just a few centimetres above the edge of the water. They are solitairy animals.
