Just as job seekers research companies, employers research candidates. This workshop will discuss major social media outlets such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Topics include a summary of each social media site, advantages for the job search, and strategies for visibility.
Job & Internship Search - Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
Searching for that perfect internship? Don't know where to start looking for jobs? This meet-up will help you maximize your efforts to land a satisfying career position ASAP. We'll focus on leveraging networking opportunities, goal setting and organization, utilizing temporary employment, optimizing career center resources and tips for keeping your job search skills in top shape in order to land your ideal job or internship.
Developing a Resume that Works - Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
Resumes are an effective means of introducing yourself in writing to potential employers. By participating in this meet-up, you will learn how to present your qualifications, including educational background, work experience, and extracurricular activities, in a well-developed format.This meet-up will teach you how to prepare a professional resume that reflects your education, knowledge, and skills which are relevant to the job that you are seeking.
Networking Strategies - Thursday, September 10th at 4:00 p.m.
How can you leverage your personal and online network in your job search? We discuss how to professionally network on LinkedIn through alumni, groups, employer, and companies. Learn how to build your network on LinkedIn and how to ensure that your social media presence is working for (not against) you in your job search.

National Instruments is seeking talented new grads for entry-level technical writer positions in its R&D organization.
Technical writers at National Instruments partner with an engineering team to develop and improve product documentation. As an NI technical writer, you write technical documentation, collaborate with content experts to develop/enhance documentation content, and work with product managers and engineers to improve the usability of documentation and products.

Core Responsibilities:

Texas Land Office seeks Accounts Examiner III
Performs moderately complex (journey-level) accounts examination work. Reviews monthly production/royalty reports to ensure compliance with reporting procedures. Reviews unit agreements and division of interest instruments per procedures. Communicates with companies on routine matters. Analyzes source documents such as lease agreements to ensure compliance. Reconciles royalty ledgers and bills companies for additional royalties and penalties due as needed. Work involves examining and auditing operating reports and financial accounting records, and collecting fees, royalties, or penalties. May train others. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
BBVA Compass Bank seeks Financial Sales Rotational Program
RISE is an accelerated training program that recruits talent from universities across the footprint. During this 16 week training program, participants receive extensive sales, systems, and product training. They will participate in job-shadowing and rotations with top sales performers, and quickly move into applying their knowledge through direct interaction with customers.
Program Structure
Onboarding:
During the first portion of the program, participants will come to Houston for one week of in-person training and onboarding sessions. During this week, they’ll be introduced to Retail managers and executives, and given a thorough orientation to BBVA Compass and the Retail line of business.
Training:
Participants return to their local markets to continue the next portion of their preparation and training. Training will include a blend of virtual components and in-person sessions with local trainers or leaders. During this portion of training, participants are exposed to systems and product knowledge, professional development topics, Mortgage certification, and sales training. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to study and receive their license to sell Health and Life Insurance.
Placement:
The goal of the program is to place participants in the Retail branch network at the conclusion of the training period. Successful participants may be placed as a Financial Sales Advisor in Dallas, Houston, Austin, or Denver. Final placement will be based on staffing needs at the time of program completion and will be subject to all applicable company policies and procedures.
With this accelerated training program, RISE participants will be expected to adjust and perform quickly once placed in their permanent assignments.
