Teacher Appreciation Week May 4 - 8
Thank you for your patience as we have waited for the district curriculum leadership and the school board to finalize grading guidelines. The district has sent out communication outlining the plan. The graphic below illustrates the plan.
As we have communicated previously, our teachers are grading the questions embedded in the student surveys. This week teachers will be inputting the grades into their grade book. As in the past, you will be able to view your child's grade in the Home Access Center (HAC) portal.
Over 95% of our students are accessing Edgenuity and on track. However, we know that a few of our families have extenuating circumstances. Teachers are working diligently with those students to make sure that their academic needs are met.
Reminders:
- The survey window is open from Wednesday at 8 AM and closes Saturday at 2:00 PM. This allows time for the instructional leaders on campus to disaggregate the student responses to the question: What did you struggle with this week? The team then meets with each grade level and content area to develop the Zoom lesson for the week and the graded questions for the survey. (Just for reference: Zoom meetings start on Monday for Social Studies at 10 AM.)
- The graded questions include the question: What have you struggled with this week?
- The questions are based on the campus generated lesson in the grade level Google classroom. This lesson is based on the previous week's curriculum located in the pacing guide. This allows for all students, regardless of pace, to be successful.
- Students should make sure they hit "SUBMIT" at the conclusion of the survey. Students may also select to have an email confirmation sent. (Make sure to check the Junk folder for the confirmation email.)
- If for some reason your student can not complete a survey, contact the teacher.
- Fine Arts, CTE and PE are grading based on the suggested activities present in their classroom.
