Chancellor News and Notes
October 22-26, 2018
Fall Festival is this Friday!
Fun times ahead! The fall festival is always a great time for our students and families, and we hope you will enjoy your time leading activities during the event! A few reminders for this week to think about:
- Donate baked goods for the cake walk and bake sale- 1 to 4 donations earns jeans passes, and 5 donations earns one hour early leave coupon (you coordinate with your team)! See Lisa if you have any questions, and all donations need to be clearly labeled and placed in her office- she will take care of jeans passes and early leave coupons!
- Remind students to buy fall festival tickets and bring donations this week
- Thursday is the 50th day of School!! Dress in 50's wear!
- Friday is the Fall Festival- costume it up with your teams!
- Cooler weather is here- make sure your students have items labeled and have a way to keep up with their items (this is a teachable moment some kids need!)
- Alief International Parade is this Saturday- we have many students groups participating (we are #28)- if you are interested in coming out to support, please do! Send me an email and I will give you the information! :)
Our Comet of the Week is...Andrea Juarez!
Mrs. Santibanez has nominated Andrea Juarez, 2nd grade teacher, to be our next Comet of the Week! Karina said she chose Andrea because, "she is an outstanding teacher that goes above and beyond for all of her students, always has a smile, and is always will to help all she can. She is always approachable, and you can always go to her. "
Congratulations, Ms. Juarez! We are proud to have you as a Chancellor Comet! Ms. Juarez has earned a jeans pass, a snack shack coupon, her name on the Comet of the Week board, and the opportunity to nominate the next Comet of the Week!
Staff, stop by and write a note to Ms. Juarez for Comet of the Week, and add a shout-out to any staff member on our staff shout-out board!
Do you need an adult volunteer?
E-Colors in Education- do you have the App?
Download the Equilibria app/extension on your phone and learn more about yourself and those around you! Build strong relationships, learn to adjust based on the personalities you work with or teach, learn about yourself and your strengths, and develop strategies to work on potential limiters that may hold you back at times. It is a great app, you can download the basic one for free and the full app is only a dollar or two. The full app is really useful!
Are you proactive or reactive?
