Notes from the teacher
Happy New Year!
I hope all of you enjoyed your break and had lots of time with family! I was so excited to see all of your children on Tuesday. It's amazing how much they looked older to me...even after only 2 weeks!
I am looking forward to lots of learning and growing with your kindergarteners in 2016!
You may now access your students’ second quarter report card on Skyward. Please contact me if you have any questions. I am always happy to discuss how together we can make your student the best he or she can be!
In Kindergarten we celebrate many milestones. One of the ones we look forward to most is the 100th day of school. If you are interested in volunteering for our
celebration on Friday, January 22nd from 1:00-2:40 (100 minutes!!), please contact me. I run five, 20 minute stations with different activities and it's always nice to have help keeping order! :).
Have a great weekend!
100 CANNED FOODS for the 100th day!
Our 100th day of school is quickly approaching! Over the last several months at school we have focused on learning to be a good friend and being kind to others in our school family. To celebrate one hundred days of school we would like to commemorate this special day by doing something kind for our community. We will be collecting canned goods for local food pantries. Our goal as a grade level is to donate 100 canned foods in honor of 100 days of friendship in kindergarten at TCE. This activity is completely optional. Any student choosing to participate may bring in their canned goods anytime up until the 100th day.
Thank you for helping us to celebrate in this special way!
Mystery Readers
Thank you so much to Mrs. Traxler for coming in on the Friday before Winter Break to read to our energetic kiddos! It was nice having you here!
Today's Mystery Reader was Mrs. Kelly! Thank you so much for coming in and for showing us a wonderful book by Mo Willems (one of our class favorites!) that we hadn't read yet!
If you haven't signed up yet to be a mystery reader, there are still many days left after our Winter break. Please do so by browsing for available Fridays this school year at http://vols.pt/nGGNUB. Remember if Friday at 10:30 doesn't work and you really really want to come in, just email me and we will work out a time that works for you! :)

Discovery News
Hello wonderful parents! This is Mrs. Foust with our news from Discovery. This week we are beginning a new unit on friendship. Students enjoyed reading the book, You Will Be My Friend and making a friendship card. We also practiced being a good friend during center time. For our movement day, it was fun to see the students participating in yoga! Ask your child to show you a yoga pose.
