A Message from our Principal, Mr. Pflugrath...
Dear Osbourn Family,
You successfully made it through the first quarter! Congratulations! This first quarter back to in-person learning has surpassed all of my expectations. Students have been engaged in learning and school activities. Our staff has masterfully adapted to new procedures, policies, and additional responsibilities, all while focused on our students. I am honored and humbled to be in the Osbourn Family. We have another exciting week this week. Monday is Senior Night for Field Hockey and Volleyball. Tuesday, our College & Career Center is hosting our Job Fair during the school day and the College Information Night for Junior parents and students in the evening. Wednesday, you are all invited to our wonderful PTSA meeting at 6:30 pm in the Library. Thursday is an early release day and Friday is a Student Holiday. This will provide us time to conduct Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday afternoon and all day on Friday. We are using a hybrid model for conferences meaning they are offered in-person, via Zoom, or by phone. Please reach out to your student’s teachers if you are interested in participating in a Parent/Teacher Conference. You are all invited, welcomed, and encouraged to connect with your teachers. Friday night we will also be honoring our Marching Band, Cheer, Cross Country, and Football Seniors at our game at 7 pm. We wish all of our fall sports teams all the best as they compete in districts this time of year. We are proud of you. Looking ahead please mark your calendar for PSAT Day on Tuesday, October 26th. All 9th, 10th, and 11th graders are invited to take the PSAT during school at no cost. Seniors will have a two-hour delayed start that day to accommodate the testing. Please see more details in our upcoming newsletters.
As always feel free to reach out to me at any time with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your support.
#OneOsbourn!
Sincerely,
Mike Pflugrath
Principal

#HATS NOT HATE
On Thurday, October 21st, 2021 Osbourn High School will conduct a schoolwide assembly to support the Anti-Bully campaign. Students will participate in a live webinar, including a message from Osbourn High School Principal Mr. Pflugrath and HatNotHate. Each Osbourn student will receive a Blue Hat to show support of the Anti-Bully Campaign.
During October, everyone at Osbourn High School is encouraged to wear Blue on Wednesdays; students have created anti-bully posters, side-walk chalk messages, are announcing daily anti-bully quotes, participated in an anti-bully spirit week, and were requested to share student voice against bullying. We are proud of our two students, who were interviewed on Facebook Live by HatnotHate. These students did an excellent job representing the Positive Culture at Osbourn High School.

Seniors -
We will have a mandatory senior meeting Tuesday, October 26, 2021 while the rest of the school takes their PSAT.
What do I need to know for that day...(Tuesday, October 26th)
*Be at school by 10:30am and proceed to the football stadium
*Bus transportation that day will run two hours later than your normal pickup time. For example, if your normal pickup time is 7:45 am, it will be 9:45am for seniors ONLY on Tuesday, October 26.
*Students who transport themselves to school will need to walk through the baseball/softball complex to access the football stadium. Do not park or be dropped off in the back of the school. Students will not be able to walk through the school due to PSAT testing.
*After our meeting we will take the 2022 class picture in the stadium, so wear your purple shirts!"
*We will only use the gymnasium if we have inclement weather.

¿Qué significa ser Hispano?
Tal vez sea la cultura que hemos ganado
O la libertad que hemos peleado por
El lenguaje que florece como una flor
O nuestra comida que es muy rica
Tal vez sea nuestra tierra grande y querida
