Wrapping Paper Design
Wrapping Paper Design
You need to:
RESEARCH - find three designs for wrapping paper that you think are really great. Write down (annotate) why these inspire you or are worth noting. Do you like the colours, the shapes, the patterns, the details, the simplicity? Is the wrapping paper eye-catching?

GENERATE IDEAS
Now draw lots of different ideas for your wrapping paper using thumbnails (small sketches). This would look best if you draw lots of boxes approx. 5cm and draw your sketches/ideas in the boxes.
Explore the elements and principles and be inspired by the wrapping you researched.

ELEMENTS & PRINCIPLES TO EXPLORE...
PATTERN
Explore pattern with your design. Does the pattern repeat or alternate in design?
COLOUR
Consider colour options - pastel colours, complementary colours, primary colours, warm colours/cool colours, rainbow colours, black and white only, etc.
LINE
Consider using line in a clever way as part of your design. Line often makes up the patterns or shapes.
REFINE YOUR DESIGN... Make it the best you can!
WRAPPING PAPER FINISHED DESIGN
Complete your finished design using the media you have selected - paint, coloured pencil, markers, computer generated, fineliners, collage, etc.
REMEMBER: Your paper will be used to wrap a box that you bring in - to become a pretend gift. You can bring in ribbon as well if you want to complete the present nicely. BONUS MARKS for a gift tag to go along with the wrapping paper.
