Last week at the Lowell

Lennie was Spotted in Mrs. Hawkins and Ms. Cachimuel 4th grade class!

This week Lennie joined us in room 123. We learned about metric measurement and unit conversions in math. Lennie was with us as we began our new non-fiction unit in reading! We talked about text features and making connections to our texts. Lennie helped spark our organizational skills in writing this week too. We began a new unit on writing an essay using a graphic organizer and transitional phrases. We loved having Lennie with us this week!

Student Spotlight

Lowell's 3rd grade student Eila Marino-Brown recently submitted a story to the podcast Story Pirates. Her story was selected to be illustrated by Dreamworks (an American animation studio and a subsidiary of Universal Pictures.) Please see pictures of her story and illustrations below. We are very proud of your accomplishments!

Upcoming Events This week

Thank you!

Thank you to this great community for all your support over the last few weeks. The Thanksgiving Pie and Panera Fundraisers helped the fifth graders raise over $1400 for their end-of-year events. We also have the T-shirt order in, so every child, teacher, and staff member will be receiving a school shirt to foster some school spirit. Through the Book Fair, we were able to purchase books for each teacher who had a wish list and a portion of our sales will help with the school library collection.
