Ukulele News
Thank you so much to the PTA for the purchase of 30 ukuleles! Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students have been working very hard learning to play these instruments.
We use a mix of district-purchased resources and YouTube play-along videos for our ukulele lessons. If you have a ukulele at home, this link will take you to my favorite channel.
We are working towards the following "I Can" statements with our ukuleles:
- I can demonstrate self-control and treat musical instruments with respect
- I can demonstrate left/right-hand independence
- My fingers can follow directions
- I can play with proper posture
- I can read a standard chord chart
- I can persevere when I'm "riding the struggle bus"
- I can play the following chords: C, F, A minor, C7, G, and G7
