3. Letter from our UNIFORM team below including link for our next formal fittings that are on July 21st-23rd!


4. Remind 101 refresh/archive will happen at 8:00am on June 1st. You will receive a last remind before last years classes will be archived, from there you will need to rejoin for your classification for the 2021-2022 school year.


We will begin transitioning to the "BAND APP" for the 2021 season, read below for info to join!


5. Smartmusic pass off/account sign up information and instructions on Audition Canvas (Wind players only).


6. Music PDF's are on the website (boydband.com), go to Media/Music downloads, password is broncoband (shhh, it is a secret :)


7. Thursday's during the summer the band hall will be open for lessons, practice and leadership led training camps (9:30-11:30) READ BELOW FOR MORE IMPORTANT INFO


8. PHYSICALS: You must have an updated physical on file (IN OUR HANDS) for our summer camps before students can participate.

Official Volunteer Shirts available now!

You have a choice of Short Sleeve Dir fit or Cotton T-shirts, or a Long Sleeve T-shirt. The Boyd Band Official Volunteer Red T-Shirts must be worn by volunteers riding the buses, chaperoning events, working pit, field crew or any other time a parent or guardian chooses to volunteer in ANY capacity as a Volunteer for the Boyd Band.

UNIFORM TEAM LETTER: READ CAREFULLY

Hello parents and students!


It’s marching season! We are SO looking forward to a normal season this year!! We’ve missed you all and can’t wait to see your faces again!


Like we do every year, we will be fitting for formal marching uniform, gloves and shoes July 21-23 (see hours on the sign up genius). These fittings are MANDATORY for EVERY student. Unless you have made prior arrangements with us, you must come on one of these days.


Parents of returning students: PLEASE have your student try on their marching shoes from last year. If they do not fit, we need you to order them under “replacement uniform items” in membership toolkit. If I do not get an order for shoes, your student will not get measured. DEADLINE for shoes orders is Monday, July 19th. If shoes are ordered after the deadline, pricing will increase to cover shipping overages.

Remind 101 UPDATE/ARCHIVE: June 1st @ 8:00AM rejoin for 2021-2022 classification


Remind is the quickest and easiest way for us to send information out. ***We will be transitioning from REMIND 101 to BAND app over the summer into next fall but highly encourage you to sign up for your classification on remind to not have any gaps of communication.

While remind is still going to be the primary means of communication for the summer. We are going to transition to the BAND APP.

You must pass off Part 1, 2 and 3 @ 90% to be eligible for a Primary marching spot. Must be complete by July 23rd.

Thursday's during the summer

The band hall will be open on the following Thursday's during the summer from 8:00AM-4:00PM:


  • May 27th, June 3rd, June 10th, June 17th, June 24th, July 1st, July 8th and July 15th.


Students can take lessons, practice or meet with their sections for student led training sessions (a Band Director will be on campus).


NEW THIS YEAR!!!: 9:30-11:30 EVERY WEEK


Student leaders will be inviting sections/individuals to meet them at Boyd to help:


  • Condition (acclimate to warm/hot weather and strengthen endurance)
  • Run Music Masterclasses ( stand tunes/show music/prep for pass offs)
  • Run Marching Masterclasses ( anything/everything we didn't get to cover at Mini-Marching)
  • Socialize (build better connections and bond)


This is not "required", but our goal is for every student on our team to attend 1 if not multiple. The students who come to these brief camps will be better prepared and successful going into Summer band camp on July 26th.

PHYSICALS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED!!! MUST BE DATED APRIL 1ST OR AFTERWARD...


All students in marching band must complete this process before they are allowed to participate EVERY YEAR!!!


It must be completed on the official MISD form, electronic version ATTACHED HERE (CLICK), printed forms are available in the band hall and can be picked up at any time


***IF YOU ARE ALSO IN ATHLETICS AND COMPLETED IT FOR ANOTHER SPORT OTHER THAN MARCHING BAND, MAKE SURE TO GET YOUR COACH OR TRAINER HUTTO TO SEND US A COPY FOR THE BAND.
