Volunteer for Meet & Treat 2017
Remember how much your children enjoyed making root beer floats and socializing with their friends at the 2016 Meet & Treat?
Each year, Madison hosts a Meet & Treat event before the first day of school, where the students get to meet their new teachers, see their classrooms, and assemble their school supplies. Afterwards they enjoy an ice cream (or similar) treat in the multipurpose room, where everyone catches up with their friends and classmates. We want to extend a big thank you to last year's chairs, Megan Day and Jaime Szfranski , for organizing the "treat" portion of this fun event!
We're now looking for a volunteer (or volunteers who want to work together) to chair this event for next (school) year. Next year's Meet & Treat will be held on Monday, August 21. If you're interested in taking on this fun event, contact Rachel Bailey at mooreracheld@hotmail.com or Kristin Olson at kolson1@me.com. We'll be sure to connect you with the previous chairs and answer any questions you might have.
Earn a free pass to Raging Waves
Are you tracking your fitness? Earn a FREE weekday pass to Raging Waves Waterpark in Yorkville this summer in just three easy steps. Madison students grade K-5 can keep track of exercise on the fitness logs that were sent home on February 10. Initial each circle/box on the fitness log for every 30 minutes you exercise. After you have finished the path, turn in your completed log to your teacher by Friday, April 14. You will get your FREE Raging Waves weekday pass from your teacher before the end of May. It’s simple and fun! Extra fitness logs are available in the front office or on the Madison website under the PTA Google drive forms/flyers. Contact Sybil Scaccia at sscaccia@comcast.net with any questions.
Order the Madison School Yearbook
All School Photo - The annual "all school photo" is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4 at 3:00 p.m. Please have your child wear their Madison Spirit Wear. Any color works. This year, we will be forming a large paw print. For those unfamiliar with this photo, annually the whole school, students, staff and faculty, are photographed as a group in a fun way, time and weather permitting. This picture will appear in the yearbook. Morning kindergarten students are invited to return to school with their parent or guardian to be a part of the photo.
Cover Contest - The winner of the annual 5th grade cover contest is Gianna H. Her original Chicago Cubs themed artwork entry will be featured on the cover this year. Gianna will also receive a free copy of the yearbook. The top five runners-up were Alyssa C., Holly K., Bella K., Lexi M., and Leah M. Their artwork entries will appear on the back cover of the yearbook. Thank you to all twenty-six students that participated in the contest.
Orders -The deadline to order the 2016-2017 Madison Paw Prints is April 15. A yearbook costs $17 and will be delivered to the student before the end of the school year. Please use the following link to order and pay with credit card or check.

Custom Pages - For those that are taking advantage of the two custom page option, customs pages need to be completed by Friday, April 8, 2017. It is very important to mark your custom yearbook pages as PRINT READY once they are complete, on or before April 8. If this is not done, a standard, non-custom yearbook will be printed for the student.
If you have any questions regarding the yearbook, please email Dawn Draus at yearbook@madisonschoolpta.org.

Submit your inspiration nominations
Are you the parent of a child who has been inspired by a District 200 teacher or staff member? With your child, take a minute to tell us about it.
Over a year ago, the PTA Council and the Superintendent's Office developed the Inspiration Nomination program to honor our District 200 staff members and acknowledge all that they do for our students. Forms are available in the Madison office, or you can can download the form here and submit it to Erica Loiacono at erica.loiacono@cusd200.org. You can either email a scanned copy (or photo) to erica.loiacono@cusd200.org, or you can turn it into the PTA President mailbox.
Any Inspiration Nomination received will be shared with the staff member nominated along with recognition by the Superintendent and PTA Council. Then, two times per year, the Council and Superintendent will surprise select staff members who have really gone above and beyond by visiting their classroom and recognizing their work personally.
