Worthington Park Shark Sentinel

Friday, January 21st, 2022

Dear Worthington Park Families,

What a wonderful week here at Park. Even though our week was shortened due to Monday's celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, students were able to get so much accomplished. Our Sharks continued to work incredibly hard on their MAP assessments and on classroom lessons and activities. We look forward to another great week at Park starting on Monday!

Have a wonderful and safe weekend! Please take a few minutes to review the information below and GO SHARKS!

Parent Teacher Conference

It is that time for our Winter Parent-Teacher Conferences. Conference Week will be from February 7th- to the 10th. Conferences will be held after school from 3 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Teachers will additionally have times on Monday and Wednesday.

Your child's teacher will be reaching out next week with sign-up information for either in person or Zoom conference.

Winter Weather Reminder

Don't forget-As the weather continues to fluctuate, we want to encourage all students to come to school daily with a winter coat, hat, and gloves. Per our Elementary Handbook:

Weather and health permitting, we expect all children to go outside for recess. In our schools, when the weather is dry/dry enough, and the temperature is 20 degrees or higher, real temperature, or wind-chill, we plan to take students outside for recess.

Thank you for helping keep our Sharks warm on the playground!

Special Education Parent Key Communicator

Worthington’s Special Education Key Communicator Committee strives to build positive, productive, and collaborative relationships and partnerships amongst the educators and community of families whose children receive special education and related services. We will engage in two-way communication, with the goal being to provide a circle of influence where we can share out and learn from and with each other.

The key communicator will convey information from their building to the committee, as well as information from the committee to their buildings

The Key Communicator for our building is Mrs. Jessica Dumas

Please reach out to them if you have questions or topics to discuss.

Positive Parenting help for Dealing With Disobedience

Looking for strategies to prevent disobedience or respond to misbehavior? Worthington Mental Health Specialists are offering another Triple P Parenting group in February! In this 2 hour group, we will explore common reasons that kids misbehave and explore strategies to prevent and respond to problem behavior. Each parent will have the opportunity to create a plan that works best for their family. If you have questions, please contact Erin Zelinski-Righter at 614- 450-6126 or ezelinski-righter@wscloud.org
