NPA Class of 2023 - Keeping up with Your Senior
While we have many students applying directly to universities, the majority of our seniors are planning on enrolling at Sierra College for Fall 2023. Sierra College has career technical education certificate programs, associate degrees, and associate degrees for transfer into universities.
When should the class of 2023 start applying for Sierra College for this summer or fall?
NOW. Details steps are located on our NPA website under the tab Student Resouces/Sierra College. Check it out.
Yes, Sierra does offer 2 years free despite family income IF the FAFSA has been completed. The FAFSA opened on October 1 and is due on March 2, 2023. Sierra College-specific scholarships are also due March 2, 2023.
Free FAFSA assistance if needed from the CA Student Aid Commission - 5:30-7:30 PM February 8, 2023 and/or February 22, 2023 "Cash for College" Webinar to assist any family with the FAFSA and/or CA Dream Act. To register click HERE
Testing protocol in the testing lab
NPA is refining the testing protocols in the testing lab.
- ALL CST's will have to be taken on a school-issued Chromebook. If your student doesn't have a Chromebook, one will be provided for testing purposes.
- ALL students must log into Go Guardian in order for any CST's to be opened. See Rene' for the enrollment code.
- ALL cell phones are to be put away in your backpack. Once we get our student cell phone holders, all cell phones will be required to be placed into the cell phone holder during testing.
- ALL TST's are to be taken in the view of a staff member/teacher. Ask Rene where she would like you to sit.
- NO testing is to be done where there is no staff member/teacher present. You may have to move seats if asked.
- NO tests are to be taken in the couch area. ALL tests are to be taken at a table.
- Notes are still allowed on your Chromebook, but all Chromebooks must be logged in to Go Guardian, even when accessing notes for a TST.
Testing protocols will be reviewed at student meetings this month. These changes are subject to change and proper notification will be given. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
