I am sure you heard all about the new Phelps Elementary School from your child after the tours we had before the holiday break. The best part for me was hearing the kids' excitement and words of curiosity as they traveled through the building. Each group ended their tour with a time to discover the new playground!

I want to update all families on our new procedures for opening Phelps Elementary School.

Kindergarten, grades 1 & 3, will enter using the left side of the school through the outdoor classroom by the basketball courts. There will be one door students will use in the morning to enter the building. In the afternoon, kindergarten and grade 1 students will be dismissed from their grade level pods in this same outdoor classroom area, and grade 3 will use the same door they used in the morning.

Grades 2 & 4 will use the front door for arrival and dismissal. Staff will be stationed throughout the building to support students in getting to their new classrooms.

Parking: Please use the high school/middle school parking area and walk over to Phelps.

Morning-only rolling drop-off: If you would like to use the morning rolling drop-off at the school's front door, please pull forward and have your child exit the car on the sidewalk side of the vehicle. You will drive down Col. Brian Duffy Way and turn left into the school's front driveway. Please do not drive or park near Memorial Park, as the area will soon be fenced off for demolition.

Bus traffic: Buses will use the driveway around the school and drop off students at the back doors of the cafeteria.
