Description
General Characteristics-the tundra has a very low temperature and the aniamals that live there have alot of fur to keep them warm.
Abiotic factors- non-living
Temperature-the temperature of the tundra is -40 degrees to 70 degrees
Precipitation-Typically snow, but there will be rain in the summers
Other facts-Annual precipitation is very low, usually less than 10 inches (25 centimeters).
Landforms
Bodies of water-the Asian Waters,European Waters, and North American Waters
Canyons- The Grand canyon is in the Tundra
Islands- The Aleutian Island is located of the Tundra.
Biotic factors- living
Plants-The tundra is not a plants best place to grow because perma frost (the permanently frozen soil) that is about a finger-length under the surface in the summer months prevents the plants' roots from growing as long as they need.
