A Message from the Director
Parents and Students,
Don't forget to sign-up for the Open House Cook-Out, if you are planning to share a meal with us on September 23! Friday, September 6, is the last day to reserve a spot. Of course, everyone is welcome to come to Open House! The meal will be from 6pm - 6:30pm, our 5 year celebration will begin at 6:30pm with Dr. Ryan and Dr. Ayers (TCC NE President), and then classroom visits to meet the teachers! This is going to be wonderful celebration of all Collegiate Academy has accomplished in 5 short years! BE HERE!
PSAT Prep
This week forty juniors will begin PSAT prep after school on Tuesday and Wednesday! All CA 9 - 11th graders will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 16! 9th and 10th graders will be using Pathways time to prepare too! I am confident our students will be successful this year on the PSAT exam!
Pathways Class
Pathways is one of the most important classes your student attends at CA. This class prepares them to be successful in their college courses now and prepares them for their next step after graduation from CA. This is the class to help them determine their talents, passions and set goals for the future. Our desire is for every CA student to graduate and be admitted to a 4 year university, a trade school or have a military appointment and with scholarship money to make it happen!
We want parents to know, understand and be part of the next step process. If you need information or have concerns, please reach out to the following CA faculty:
Freshman Pathways - Lauren Jackson
Sophomore Pathways - Kristinia Haney
Junior and Senior Pathways - Robin Young
College Transition Specialist - Yvonne Aguirre (Spanish Speaking)
Together we will make a difference!

SAT on Oct. 16 - For the first time, we will be offering a free SAT exam on Oct. 16 for Seniors. The deadline for signing up is Sept. 13, and Seniors should sign up through their Pathways classes next week. This is a great opportunity to sit for the SAT without having to pay for it!
Attendance - I will be reviewing my first attendance report from TCC this week. Students who have absences should be ready to explain why they weren't in class. Also, we use attendance to determine eligibility for OFSDP (Optional Flexible Student Day Program for Seniors) and Independent Study. Want to earn or keep some schedule freedom during the day? Be present and on time for every class!
