LHR 8th Grade At-Home Learning
Week 5 - April 20-24, 2020
Principal's Message
Our kiddos are doing great with a huge transition and we are here to keep cheering you on! Thank you for your patience and perseverance during this unprecedented time. We hope you are well and everyone is taking care of each other.
Remember: If you struggle on a particular assignment, or are not happy with your "score" on an assignment, you need to join your teacher during "office hours" or call their Google Voice number so he/she can go over the assignment with you for "tutoring/corrections". These conversations between students and teachers are a very important way for teachers to determine whether the student is demonstrating progress in learning and they often give teachers much more information than just a percent score on an assignment.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help your family during this temporary new normal.
I miss you guys,
Mrs. Daniel

8th Math
This week students will find their assignment in Google Classroom. Students will complete problems in Google Slides. Each slide has problems on 2-step equations. Students are to complete each slide and all the problems on each slide.
Before students begin working on the Google Slides assignment, please watch the videos that are linked. These videos will help students solve the problems and clear up confusion before students start the assignment. It is encouraged for students to take notes during the videos to refer to as they are working in Google Slides.
Lastly, have students text me an emoji about how they are feeling about At-Home Learning. This will help me as a teacher gauge how students are doing and feeling about At- Home Learning. Please make sure the student's name is included in the message.
If students regularly have the questions read to him/her, please call me during my office hours and I will assist.
If you have any questions, please email me, text me, or call me.

8th Science
During this fifth week of at home learning, in 8th Grade Science, we will review EROSIONAL FEATURES. Your assignments will be posted in Google Classroom, ultimately taking you to StemScopes for your main assignments, in addition to other assignments that will support your learning. Your grade will come from the assignments in Google Classroom. If you do not do well on your assignments the first time, you will have the opportunity to redo that assignment.
To access your assignments, you will log into your Google Classroom account for Science using your BonhamISD student gmail account, click the new assignment in Google Classroom, click the link to StemScopes, and use your login information for StemScopes, and complete the assignments assigned to you. For most of you, your login information for StemScopes is your lunch number for the Username, and your lunch number for the Password. If it is different, a private message went out to you in Google Classroom the first week of at home learning. Be sure to also complete any additional assignments in Google Classroom, in addition to the assignments in Stemscopes.

BISD Choir Variety Show Information!
Hello, everyone!
Just a heads-up: We’re going to try something NEW with our Variety Show this year. It’s still open to all faculty, staff, and students at Bonham ISD (all campuses), but because we can’t meet in person, we’re going to take submissions of anything entertaining for a chance to win gift cards to local businesses and restaurants. We’re looking for dancing, singing, magic tricks, jokes, poetry, acting, gymnastics, anything interesting and entertaining!!!! The videos can be 20 seconds long or much longer. We’re going to post them on the BHS and LHR Choirs Facebook pages and get the public involved in watching and rooting for you. How do you win the gift cards? All you have to do is submit a video of yourself and your skill/talent that is school-appropriate and entertaining to watch to get in the drawing. There can only be one submission per person. The sky’s the limit!
The cut-off for submissions will be Friday, May 1, 2020 at 1PM. We look forward to viewing your various talents and fun videos that show your skills!
Email anna.waller@bonhamisd.org for submissions and questions.
