Mrs. Walters News
Hello Bushnell Families~
Halloween is almost here! And then November... time is flying!
Congratulations to the pack of kids below who won the October Bushnell Bear Award! Top notch kiddos right there!
We've already begun spending some of the fundraiser monies provided by the generosity of you and your friends and family. We will be giving each teacher an amount to spend for their classroom. We'll also be gifting the new PTO some starter money.
So far we've used $1400 to purchase:
-New STEM connector toys for each classroom
-Magnatiles and Brain flakes for 3 new teachers
-Bristle Blocks, shape sorting truck, Wood sorting toy, Rainbow Mandala blocks and wood stacking stones for conference room (to be used by children during child study)
-PBIS Treasure box items: Gyroscopes, playdough, sticky wall climbers, fidgets, mochis, pop-it bracelets etc.
-Mindfulness basket items: breathing balls, playdough, thinking putty, lacing cards, magnet stones, stress balls, and fidget rings
-Entryway flags from countries that represent where our student population is from
-'Hello' signs in other languages in entryway
-Fidget tubes, timers and thinking putty for office use
Monday Halloween Plans:
IMPORTANT! Parking is limited at Bushnell! Please do not park on the grass. Also, please be considerate of our neighboring streets and church when you are coming to the parade!
We will celebrate Halloween at school on Monday, October 31. The annual parade will begin at 1:00. All parents and loved ones will need to stay outside the building and line up along the sidewalk for the parade. The children will begin the parade indoors, gathering each class into the line, and exit the building through the front doors. They will walk the sidewalk around the building and head back inside. If you'd like to take your child home following the parade, you will sign them out from their teacher.
We had a contest this week. Ten lucky winners were chosen for the best ideas/drawings of what Mrs. Walters should be for Halloween. Check out the finalists below. You'll have to wait until Monday to see what emerges from the building during our 1:00 parade!
Want your child to be in a theater performance at Lowell High School? Read the document in the link below or click here to sign up!
Have a beautiful weekend everyone!
