Canvas Gallery!

Our classrooms have done an amazing job creating their class canvases. They are lining the halls of Eisenhower and showcasing teamwork, collaboration, and brainstorming. Check out a few below! We will be featuring new ones each week!

Mrs. Laidlaw Receives a Grant from the FEF!

Mrs. Laidlaw is able to purchase a Kimochis Tool Kit to teach her Young 5 students how to recognize and manage their emotions. The program incorporates stuffed animals to demonstrate caring and concern for others, establish personal relationships, make responsible decisions and handle challenging situations constructively.

We are so thankful for our Fraser Education Foundation for this opportunity!

Parent Meetings Are Underway To Improve School Attendance

This year, as part of a district initiative to improve student attendance in Fraser, we are meeting with families whose children are becoming chronically absent. These meetings are now underway in all buildings throughout the district. As part of the meetings, we create Attendance Success Plans and discuss helpful strategies for ensuring your child attends school every day!

Some of these strategies may serve as a good reminder to everyone:

  • Talk to your child about how going to school every day will help them do well in school and achieve their hopes and dreams.

  • Set goals for positive attendance (i.e. no tardies/absences this month)

  • Reward/acknowledge students' positive attendance habits.

  • Make sure students get to bed early and awake early enough to get to school on time.

  • Set up medical and dental appointments for weekdays after school, Early Release/Half Day afternoons, or weekends- if possible.

  • For children with a slight stomachache, headache or allergies, who don't have a contagious illness including Covid-19, plan to send them to school. Call a health provider for advice for children who complain regularly.

  • For children who cannot avoid missing school, check Canvas for learning resources. Also, be sure to call our attendance line at: 586-439-6600.
