Who,What,When,Where,and Why?
Dwight Eisenhower was the president during the start of the Vietnam War in November 1955. The real reason for the war was to contain communism that had been spreading through the eastern part of the world. The Northern Vietnam Government (Viet Cong) was for communism but the south Vietnamese did not want that. The end of the War was on April 30, 1975
For the War
- Vo Nguyen Giap, Bao Dai, Ngo Dinh Diem, Nguyen Van Thieu, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and Lyndon B. Johnson. were important people who wanted the Vietnam war to happen they wanted to stop communism from spreading
Anti War
When the war started the media twisted the war around and people were mad about them going to war, and when soldiers came home they were hatted and spit on because of what people had read about the war.
Media View
My view on the war is that it should of never happened. We should of just stayed here and not worry about them. So many soldiers would still be alive today if we didn't got to war with them.
Criticism 1
Racial criticism was popular during this time. The time period was when Blacks were treated differently for the color of their skin. During this they decided to create a group called Black Panthers, that way if anyone messed with them they could defend themselves.
Criticism 2
When soldiers returned home the were treated like garbage. Protesters throwing things at them spitting on them saying awful slurs. They fought for you and you treat them like this. No respect was given to the soldiers who fought in Vietnam
