From the Principal's Desk
Dear Sacred Heart Parents,
I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful summer weather and getting some time to rest and relax. We have been working hard to make continued enhancements to our programing and building. One of the largest building improvements this summer has been to our third floor which is receiving an amazing facelift. The hallway has been completely redone from new paint and cabinetry to the addition of beautiful sacred artwork!
Our theme this year will be Do Whatever He Tells You. These wonderful words come from our Blessed Mother at the wedding feast of Cana. They are more than just words to those at the wedding but are meant as a message for all of us. This year we will be focused on what these words mean for us and the role Mary can play in bringing us ever closer to her son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. A special thank you to Jennifer Sorrent for her design work
that will accompany our theme this year!
Some of the most exciting news comes in the form of the EdChoice Expansion Program and changes passed about one month ago by the State legislature. We continue to work with the Diocese and the State in rolling out changes to our scholarship programs which will benefit EVERY Sacred Heart family. We look forward to our informational parent night on Thursday, August 10th at 6:00pm. For those who cannot attend in person we will be live streaming the presentation. More information can be found below.
We are also excited to announce that we will have two first grade and third grade homerooms this year. Teaching grade one will be Mrs. Veronica Bilas and Mrs. Katherine Robbins (formerly Ms. Paydo). In grade three Mrs. Rene Gerschutz will be joined by a new face at Sacred Heart, Ms. Emma Jo Powers.
You can find more information, updates and reminders regarding the beginning of the school year below.
I pray you enjoy these remaining days of summer break!
In Christ,
Mr. John Czaplicki

Updates from Wadsworth Public Schools Regarding the Lunch Program
For the 2023-24 school year, the Wadsworth City Schools will no longer charge additional fees when processing online payments or purchases through Pay Schools and Local Level. Tickets to athletics events will still incur a fee due to league-established ticket prices. This change applies to all school fees, breakfast/lunch accounts, and any purchases at Local Level.
While the district is making the effort to move payments online, the ability to pay with cash/check at the buildings or at an event is still an option. However, for the foreseeable future, cash/check payments for school fees, breakfast/lunch accounts and any purchase at Local Level can only be made at the school your child attends.
Lunch Program:
Under a new law in Ohio, students who qualify for reduced breakfast and lunch through the National Breakfast & Lunch Program will receive breakfast and lunch for free. In order to qualify, the Free and Reduced-Price Schools Meal Application must be filled out and submitted for consideration. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kelly Gnap, Food Service Supervisor, at kgnap@wadsworthschools.org or at 330-335-1436.
Important Bussing Update from Wadsworth Public Schools
Transportation:
For those whose child(ren) will utilize school transportation this school year, you will receive an email from Transfinder, our transportation system software, no later than Friday, August 11 with detailed bus information for your student(s). Shortly following that email, you will receive an additional email with directions to download Stopfinder and the invitation code required to access it. Stopfinder, is a feature that enables you to view where your child's bus or van is during a route and set notifications when the bus or van is close to your child's stop.
New to our routing this school year we have been able to drastically reduce the number of students required to transfer buses. New bus routes that allowed this reduction were completed through a collaboration between Transfinder and Jessy Widmer, our Transportation Supervisor. The few transfers that will happen, will be at the bus ramp at Isham Elementary School.
With the reduction of transfers, your students have the potential to be riding different buses if they attend two different elementary schools. Each bus has been assigned one elementary school and every bus route will go to CIS on a staggered drop-off and pickup schedule to help eliminate traffic congestion.
If you have any questions regarding transportation, please contact Mrs. Widmer at jwidmer@wadsworthschools.org or at 330-335-1328.
