PEMDAS Videos
By Veronica and Audrey
Do you know what PEMDAS is? Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally! That stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication or Division, Addition or Subtraction. That is the order of operations in math.
Students in our class made cool videos explaining what PEMDAS really means. Some people did really long but detailed videos. If you don’t know why we use parentheses, then we will tell you. Parentheses symbolize that you have to do those numbers first! Exponents are the little numbers next to another number. And you all probably know multiplication, division and addition and subtraction.

Kahoot in Math
By Alex and Trent
Hola! Mi llamos Alex y Trent! April Fools! We now it's the 5th of April but we don’t care. Have you heard about the website Kahoot!? It's really fun. Kahoot! is a website where you type a pin code and make a team name like chesseydoulbles. Then you type your real name. Next you answer questions. Like (6x7) + 4=?
After one question the top 5 teams show on the screen. After every question, there’s a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place on the screen.
Mrs. Adams makes the Kahoots! for the kids to play. Kids can make a Kahoot too.We did a kahoot to practice for our math test.
See our Kahoot picture below.
Q-Ball Speaker
By London and Nate
A few weeks ago, Mrs. Adams purchased something called a Q-Ball. You might be asking yourself, “What on earth is a Q-Ball?” Well, a Q-Ball is a small foam ball that is also a microphone. You can toss it around the room as a ball and it won’t break.
Writing with Layered Cakes!
By Taylor and Marissa
Have you ever tried to persuade someone to do something? 3A has! This week, we’re working on persuasive writing. Do you want to know how to persuasive write? Well, you are going to learn how. First, we toured the school finding problems that need to be solved. Then, we went back to our classroom and learned how to turn the problems into a persuasive essay. We learned about how we need to consider our readers opinions. Like this, “I know you might be thinking …” or “You are probably saying…”.
We also learned that we need a thesis (Saying our opinion in the beginning), a reason or two, some examples to support the reason, and an explanation for the examples. It’s kind of like a layer cake. The frosting on top is the reason, the cake under it is an example, the little bit of frosting under the cake is the explanation, then that is followed by another example and explanation, followed by one more example and explanation.
That’s what is happening in 3A writing. Have you learned anything?
