Minnewaska Memo
Welcome Back!
Welcome back! It's hard to imagine that 12 short weeks ago we were gearing up for summer, celebrating graduations and end of year picnics. For some of you, that seems like forever ago and for some of you, you blinked and it was already mid-August. As teachers, we have a pretty incredible experience to take time and reset each year where life can be a little slower. Through the summer months, I hope you were able to relax, rejuvenate and find time to reflect on all the incredible things we sometimes take for granted during the busyness of the school year.
Schedule
Like class lists, schedules are maybe the thing you've waited for next. There are a few things that have happened with schedules this year that have made them a bit more delayed. As always, they're maybe one of the toughest things we create. Trying to make 29 classrooms go round with staying within contract for all staff isn't always the easiest task. Then, to prioritize instruction time and such, it can get a bit hairy.
Luckily, we have some incredible Leadership Team members who were able to help us come to consensus about the best schedule.

One of the goals we had was to schedule each classroom's literacy and math blocks as well. You can quickly see that didn't happen. However, if it works, we would love for you to piggy back your math/reading time close to your grade level so it is easier to pull students for related services around the same time. Also, please piggy back a bit off your intervention times.

Workshop Week
Chip shared out our workshop week schedule, which hopefully you're loving. You'll notice half of it is to work in rooms and you have some time with the district as well as with your team on Benchmark Literacy. There is no doubt our time will be quick, but I'm looking forward to being back together and launching into an incredible year!
