Coloma Junior High

Week of October 26, 2020

Friday, October 30th

We will be permitting students to wear costumes on Friday, October 30th if they would like. Costumes should meet the following guidelines:

  • Masks for Covid-19 purposes must still be worn
  • We will not permit masks that cover the entire face
  • School dress code still applies
  • Costumes should allow students to participate in class, this includes PE
  • Weapons of any kind are not permitted
  • Please refrain from blood and gore.

Students will not be participating in classroom parties, however teachers often plan Halloween themed lessons for the day.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Nov. 4th and 5th from 4pm - 7pm Virtually. Due to our current restrictions, conferences will be held virtually or via phone and will be by Invite Only.

Over the course of the next week you will receive emails from each of your child's 6 teachers. They will inform you if they have concerns regarding your child's progress in their class and provide you with the information to schedule a virtual conference if needed. Students that are performing well in class will not require a conference, however as always if you would like to meet with a teacher, please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Chromebooks Charged Nightly

Please ensure that your students have a nightly routine of charging their Chromebooks. Students should arrive each day with a fully charged Chromebook. Due to the potential of having to move to remote learning, teachers have the majority of classwork available via the Chromebooks. When students do not have a charged Chromebook it is difficult for them to participate in class.
