Donations of Diverse Books: THANK YOU!
Thank you to Our Families!
Thank you so much to the families who donated 67 books from our Diverse Books Project wish lists! Every homeroom teacher in K-5 received at least 3 of the 5 books they wished for. Books were delivered with lesson plans inside so teachers could dive straight into teaching from them. We are immensely thankful for the generosity of the families who bought these books. It is so important for our children to learn about the diverse world around us, and now our teachers have more resources to teach from. Thank you! If you would still like to donate, it's not too late: We still have 35 books left on our wish list!

Help Needed: Community Garden Improvements
My name is Tom Pogorelec and I am a scout in Troop 6, Brookline's local scout troop. A former student at Heath, I have been working on my Eagle Scout Project, which aims to improve Heath's Community Garden, tucked behind the basketball courts. With the help of Mrs. Wheeler and Ms. Shashoua, the two teachers at the helm of the gardening program, I have created designs that will be used to build and install two new wheelchair-accessible garden beds. These beds will be raised and set at a specific height so that all members of the Heath community can take part in the fun of gardening. Alongside the two new beds, my troop and I will also be building a composter that will be used to decompose the garden's waste materials. We will also install an outdoor glass-enclosed bulletin board that will house flyers intended for the entire school.
I am looking to raise this money to purchase the wood and other materials for this project, to buy the new signage, and to support the costs of a four-day-long project with the scouts.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
~ Tom

Community Event: Brookline for Racial Justice and Equity (BRJE) Candidates Forum
The Brookline for Racial Justice and Equity (BRJE) Forum interviews candidates for Select Board, the Housing Board, and the School Committees to discover their stances on racial justice and equity issues. This forum will enable the community to be better informed about Town leadership positions and, after the election, better able to hold your elected officials accountable.
