This phonics game helped students practice distinguishing long and short vowels.
Making of Monster Munch
I came up with the idea of the "Monster Munch" game from Pinterest. I used hard foam board to help the monsters stand up. I made the monsters bodies out of felt and a clothing zipper.
Rules for "Monster Munch"
Each student will receive 5-6 words (monster food). They will take their turn reading the word out loud and then they will have to decide which monster the word belongs to. Each student will separate the words by Long e vowel sounds and Short e vowel sounds.
