Patriot's Pointe
December 4 - December 8 Vol. 2 Edition 18
Happy Sunday Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
I am pleased to report that our Saturday Success program was well attended with over 50 students taking advantage of the opportunity to make up or re-take assignments/assessments within the current units of study. A special Thank You to our teacher volunteers who made this event possible: Mrs. Jackson, Mr. Chisolm, Mrs. Dossie, Mrs. Hood-Davis, Mrs. Beecham, and Ms. Mosby. This is our last full week before we begin final exams to close out our first semester and all students need to ensure that there are no missing assignments in the gradebook and that all assignments and assessments are completed with a high level of quality work. Final exams will begin on Tuesday, December 12, 2023-Friday, December 15, 2023. December 15th will be a half day for all of our students as this will be the last day of the first semester. Please click on the link below to see the final exam schedule.
The deadline for students to declare their exam exemptions will be Tuesday, December 5th at 4pm. Every family has been notified of their child's attendance exemption status as of 6pm this evening. Parents please check your email for the notification of your child's status to exempt an exam based on attendance for the Fall semester. Detailed information has been disseminated regarding how your child can take advantage of the exemption opportunities provided by the Fayette County School System and that flyer is also featured below. Please note that attendance will be a determining factor for exam exemptions this year and students cannot exempt any EOC course (Biology, Algebra Concepts and Connections, U.S. History, or American Literature), and AP course or IB course.
We have another busy week at The Creek! All families are encouraged to come out to Winter Fest on Tuesday, December 5th to experience the talent of students in our Fine Arts Programs. Our Wresting Team will compete at Central Carrollton and our Basketball Programs will host Pebblebrook and Creekside this week at home. Congratulations are in order for Coach Nickerson for an outstanding win over McIntosh last week. Finally, our Swim Team will have a meet at Kedron Aquatic Center on Friday. Congratulations to our Dance Team and Coach Reynolds and Coach Jennnifer for winning 1st Place in a dance competition over the weekend and to Ms. McDonald and our Patriot Cheerleaders for a 4th Place finish at Model High School's Cheer competition! Additionally, our AFJROTC Academic Bowl Team has advanced to the 2nd round of the National Air Force Competition! Way to Go Patriots!!!!

The road to college acceptance comes with a lot of uncertainties. Doorway to College can help reduce your young scholar's anxiety about preparing for college entrance exams and applying to college. Our mission is to help students like yours make a successful transition from high school to higher education.
Doorway to College, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, evolved from a 30-year history of serving college-bound high school students. Doorway to College Foundation is continuing the work of the former ZAPS Learning Company, which was also dedicated to providing quality test prep to students who can't afford hundreds of dollars — or more — to raise their scores.
Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

PTSO
Did you know that your gently worn sneakers could help The Sandy Creek High School PTSO support even more students, faculty and staff?
Well, they can and here’s how…Our team is participating in a fundraiser where there is nothing to buy or sell; All we need is your support and your gently worn, used, or new sneakers!
Here’s how you can help:
As the seasons change and you clean out/organize your closets, gather as many pairs of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve out-grown them, they’re out of style, or out of season. If you and your household have 20 pairs, great! If not, don’t worry. You can ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and anyone in your social networks to help out. Every pair counts! The Sandy Creek High School PTSO will be collecting sneakers from December through February. Collections bins will be located in the front office.
The sneakers that we all collect will help raise money to support our program AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills.
Can we count on you?

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
