Principal Note
Hello BRMES Families,
I am so excited to welcome you back to a new school year and to provide you a regular monthly family newsletter.
We had a great first day of school! Thank you for responding to the 1st day survey to share with us what your kid(s) said after day one (see photo below of some of their responses).
Our new school theme this 22-23 school year is "Adventures in Learning"!
I want to share with you how enrollment is looking at BRMES and can assure you we've been busy answering those phones and emails as fast as we can. Open enrollments from out of our attendance boundary are becoming more and more difficult to accept as we just keep growing. We added 54 new students to BRMES this year in grades 1-5.
Current Enrollment: 424
Preschool: 9
Kindergarten: 65
1st Grade: 61
2nd Grade: 59
3rd Grade: 81
4th Grade: 77
5th Grade: 72
We are committed to making this a great year! Please reach out to the school at (208) 634-2219 or email our office team with any questions you have.

We continue to practice monthly emergency protocols from the Idaho Standard Command Responses for Schools (ISCRS) (see below).
REVISED Bus Routes ~ Harlow's
Check out our website for a link to all the revised bus routes. If your child's daily plans adjust, please let our office know. We take great pride in ensuring all students make it home the way we have recorded it.
Call Harlow's for additional information and/or to re-register your child(ren) to ride the bus (208) 634-1089.

You are encouraged to pay for your child's breakfast or lunch through My School Bucks.com. Call our office if you need your child's Student ID number. You can even set it to notify you when your child's account balance is low. A check written to MDSD Food Service can also be accepted if your child can deliver it to the office or cafeteria.
Please consider filling out the free/reduced application as well. You never know if you might qualify. Click here for the ONLINE APPLICATION for 2022-23 or print an application in English here or Spanish here.

Student Drop Off {Arrival}:
7:45-8:15: DROP OFF/PLAYGROUND OPEN: The doors will only be open from 7:45-8:15. Only BRMES students (& staff) will be permitted in the building. Students will go directly to the cafe for breakfast or outside until 8:05. Mornings are chilly so either delay drop off or send kids with layers. At 8:05 a bell rings to direct all students to go to their individual classrooms. Students who arrive after the 8:15 bell will be marked tardy and need to buzz into the office for admittance.
7:45: DOOR OPEN
8:05: CLASSROOMS OPEN
8:15: TARDY BELL & ALL DOORS LOCKED for the day
ABSENCES: Please call {634-2219} or email (dgeibel@mdsd.org) if your child(ren) will be absent. Automated calls will go out to all unverified absences, shortly after attendance for the safety/accountability of all students.
Dismissal Procedures
Safety is our number one priority and we ask for your patience to help the dismissal process run smoothly.
Please follow these dismissal expectations:
- Pick Up Students: These students are dismissed out the SOUTH DOORS at 3:00. All students will be directed to the west side of the front doors to wait for their adult or vehicle from the grass lawn. Students must stay back on the grass until their vehicle is in the loading zone. Please pull as far forward as possible in the loading zone before stopping. We will load kids from the curb side into vehicles. If everyone pulls forward we can typically load 6 cars at a time. Talk through this process with your child(ren) to ensure they are watching/ready to load quickly.
- Buses: Students load buses at 3:00 from the WEST DOORS. Buses strive to leave BRMES by 3:10. Students need to be registered through Harlow's to ride the bus. We have registration forms at the school or you can contact Harlow's (634-1089).
- Walking/Biking: Students are dismissed out the NORTH DOORS to the playground to proceed to walk/bike home from there. Walking or Biking parents may meet their child(ren) on the playground to practice a safe route from school. This includes any students walking to the middle school. Students must walk to PLMS on the sidewalk/use crosswalks.
If you need to send a message to your child with a change of dismissal plans; please call (634-2219) the school by 2:30 to give us enough time to deliver the message. It does count against your child's attendance if they are checked out before 3:00.
