The Holidays are right around the corner...

It is hard to believe that next week is our last week before Holiday Break. If your family will be leaving town early please let me know. Please also remember for the safety of all children we ask that the children do not leave after our Holiday Party. We will still have one hour of instruction after the party so it is important the they continue to learn with the rest of us.

The cold weather has arrived! Please keep in mind that we will be going outside for recess unless the wind chill is below 25. Make sure to send your child to school with an appropriate coat, gloves and hat for being outside 20-30 minutes everyday.

Volunteer Schedule

I will be creating the volunteer schedule for January -March over break. If your availability has changed or you would like to be added to our monthly volunteer calendar please let me know. The kids love to have you visit us and play games. As always, if a conflict arises with your scheduled time just let me know.

It is that time of year...

We are very excited in our room for the holidays as they near. Please help me by reminding your child that we still need to focus in class and remember to show our TCE High 5 behavior. Thank you for all of your support at home, it truly does help.

Things we are collecting...

There are several items that we are always collecting at school. Feel free to send them in whenever you need to.

  • all plastic bottle caps and lids for our buddy bench project
  • Boxtops
  • Campbells Labels for Education

Coming up next week...

Reading -we will be looking at a few fairy tales this week. We will be talking about what makes up a fairy tale. We will also be comparing and contrasting a few of the fairy tales.

Writing - We will be writing our own fairy tales with a "Once upon a time" and "they lived happily ever after!" We will also be focusing on having a complete sentence that starts with a capital letter, ends with the correct punctuation, and makes sense.

Math - We be using this week to review all of the skills that we have learned so far this year. We will be focusing a great deal on story problems and giving two ways to prove every story problem that we complete.

Social studies - We will continue discussing traditions that we see around us and that we have at home. We will discuss how to respect and learn from everyone's traditions.
